In this chapter
This chapter maps who supplies dental care in the UAE: multi-branch groups, hospital dental departments, public providers, investors and the directories that sit between clinics and patients. The market is fragmented and lightly consolidated. The biggest UAE dental deal found, by clinic count, was Olive Rock Partners' 2022 purchase of majority stakes in two platforms with eight clinics between them, while Dubai alone has 1,353 facilities offering dentistry (Gulf News; Gulf News, Jan 2026 (newer than DHA Yearbook 2024). Most branch counts in public sources are self-reported or several years old, and this chapter marks which ones were confirmed.
In brief
Olive Rock Partners Fund I took majority stakes in The Dental Studio (5 clinics, Dubai) and Al Bustan Medical Center (3 clinics, Abu Dhabi) in November 2022 (Gulf News).
Saudi group Al Meswak, owned by Gulf Islamic Investments and Jadwa, bought the Al-Anees and Al-Barazi dental centres in Al Ain in 2023; it runs 90+ facilities in 37+ Saudi cities (GCC Business News).
Abu Dhabi investors have bought dental assets abroad rather than at home: Mubadala co-invested in US group Dental Care Alliance (about 390 practices) and UEMedical paid AED 500m for a controlling stake in Saudi Al Muhaideb Dental Group (46 clinics).
No UAE dental acquisition from 2024 to 2026 was found.
Grand View Research sizes the UAE dental service organisation (practice support) market at USD 507.3m in 2025, rising to USD 1,885.8m in 2033.
Confirmed current branch footprints are rare: Dr. Michael's Dental Clinic lists 5 Dubai locations (Emirates Islamic deal page); Emirates Hospital Group lists 6 Dubai sites.
Public providers are large: EHS reports 108,062 dental treatments across 134 facilities (year not stated), and SEHA employed 15% of Abu Dhabi's dentists in 2017 (EHS; DoH Abu Dhabi).
Dubai supply looks different on every platform: 110 dentists on Practo, 433 providers on Zavis and 691 clinics in a Doctify radius search.
Practo entered the UAE in May 2025 with 31,000+ doctors and 3,000 facilities listed, naming two dental clinics as early partners (Arabian Business).
A fragmented supply base
Chapter 2 showed that the UAE has no single count of dental providers. The figures relevant to competition are restated here. Dubai's "general dental clinic" licence category held 75 facilities in 2024 and 70 in 2025, alongside 70 dental laboratories, while 1,665 polyclinics (not all offering dentistry) held most of the remaining dental chairs (DHA; Gulf News citing DHA). A DHA official counted 1,353 Dubai facilities offering dentistry in January 2026 (Gulf News, Jan 2026 (newer than DHA Yearbook 2024). Nationally, one directory lists 902 dental providers (Zavis).
Only 75 of Dubai's licensed facilities held a general dental clinic licence in 2024

This structure matters for group strategy. In Dubai, dentistry is mostly delivered inside polyclinics and multi-specialty centres rather than in standalone dental clinic licences (DHA, 2024; Dubai Health Authority, 2024). Many "dental groups" are therefore medical centre groups with dental departments, and many hospital groups run dental services alongside other specialties. A competitor analysis that looks only at dental-branded clinics will miss much of the supply.
Grand View Research estimates the UAE dental service organisation market, meaning business support to practices such as human resources, marketing and procurement, at USD 507.3m in 2025 and forecasts USD 1,885.8m in 2033. It is not a measure of patient treatment revenue, and no public source was found that counts the dental practices in the UAE operating under a dental service organisation model.
Named groups and branch footprints
The research found branch counts for only a handful of dental groups, and most are self-reported or dated. The table separates counts confirmed on a current page from those that are older or unverified.

Branch counts could not be verified for several well-known names, including Versailles Dental Clinic, for which only one location at Al Razi Medical Complex in Dubai Healthcare City was found (Doctify listing). Google's 2025 Year in Search for the UAE listed "Dr. Joy Dental Clinics" seventh among trending searches for "gadgets, toys, and luxe experiences", the only dental brand reported, but no branch count for the group is held in the notes (Gulf News, 2025).
ONS reading A group's full portfolio is not automatically available at every branch. Marketing should promote a service at a location only when that branch actually offers it through appropriately authorised professionals, and each branch should have its own accurate profile and service list. For a group, the useful unit of analysis is the branch: its catchment, its clinicians' privileges, its appointment capacity and its own enquiry-to-treatment record, not the group's aggregate brand reach.
Hospital dental departments and public providers
Hospitals are a significant part of the dental supply, and several publish dental prices. Thumbay Dental Hospital in Ajman describes itself as the first private dental hospital in the country; a corporate news item in March 2023 reported its expansion to 120 chairs with a new outlet at Thumbay University Hospital, Al Jurf, inaugurated on 13 March 2023, but the chair count appears only in the headline and is company-reported. Its online shop lists consultations at AED 100 and an Emax veneer smile package at AED 14,000 (Thumbay Dental Hospital, 2026).

| Emirates Health Services (EHS) | Federal public provider | Northern emirates and some Dubai sites | 108,062 dental treatments, 134 facilities, 11,522 staff (year not stated); sites include Al Kuwait Hospital (Dubai), Saqr Hospital (RAK), Dibba and Masafi hospitals (Fujairah), Ajman Specialty Dental Center | EHS; Emirates Health Services [Official] |
| University dental clinics | Teaching clinics | Ajman, Sharjah | Supervised student treatment at Ajman University and University of Sharjah | Gulf News [Industry] |
EHS has grown its implant service: 813 dental implant procedures in 2024 to early October, against 110 in 2020 (Emirates Health Services). It also runs seven mobile foldable dental clinics for home care of patients who cannot travel, offering cleanings, fillings, dentures and simple extractions with three-monthly recall (Eye of Riyadh). General dentistry at EHS is free for UAE citizens and GCC nationals with a valid health card. The DHA ran public teledentistry triage from June 2020, with more than 1,245 clients using it by July 2020 (Gulf News).
For marketersFor Emirati patients, public providers are direct competitors on price: SEHA at 100% Thiqa cover in Abu Dhabi and EHS free general dentistry in the northern emirates. Private clinics targeting these patients compete on access, choice of clinician and service, and should describe those accurately rather than compete on price claims.
Acquisitions and investment
The dental deals found in or involving the UAE are few and small. All values were undisclosed except one Saudi acquisition by an Abu Dhabi investor.
| Date | Investor | Target | Location of assets | Scale | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mar 2019 | UEMedical (Abu Dhabi) | Controlling stake in Al Muhaideb Dental Group | Saudi Arabia | AED 500m; 46 clinics, 420 dentists, 441 chairs, about 500,000 patients a year | HealthPlus/UEMedical release [Platform] |

| Label | Clinics or centres (clinics) |

| Al Bustan Medical Center, Abu Dhabi (Olive Rock, 2022) | 3 |
| Al-Anees and Al-Barazi, Al Ain (Al Meswak, 2023) | 2 |
The pattern is clear even from a short list. UAE-based investors (Mubadala, UEMedical, Gulf Islamic Investments) have mainly bought dental platforms abroad, in the US and Saudi Arabia, where groups are larger. Al Meswak, with 90+ facilities across 37+ Saudi cities, entered the UAE through a two-centre purchase in Al Ain (GCC Business News). No UAE dental acquisition from 2024 to 2026 was found within the research budget.
Entry costs are reported only by commercial sources. A free zone set-up guide claims year-one investment of AED 400,000 to 800,000 for a one-chair, two-dentist clinic in Dubai, although its own itemisation totals AED 550,000 to 1,111,000, and a DHA facility licence of AED 15,000 to 25,000 a year; it cites no regulator source.
Manufacturers and the supply chain
Global dental manufacturers use Dubai as a regional base but publish no UAE figures. Align Technology opened its first Middle East regional office in Dubai in 2018, citing nearly 440,000 new orthodontic case starts a year in the region, and has had direct operations in the region since 2017 (Dental Tribune Middle East; Dental Tribune Middle East, 2020). It later extended into Oman from Dubai, which it said "solidifies our presence in the entire GCC region" (Gulf Business, 2022). In fiscal 2025 Align shipped to 130,015 Invisalign doctors worldwide. Straumann, at AEEDC in January 2026, described the Middle East as "a region of impressive growth and diversity" with "distributor markets remaining central" to its strategy, again without figures (Dental Tribune Middle East). Its Q3 2025 EMEA revenue rose 8.2%, with no Middle East split (blue News).
Regulation also shapes how groups organise supply. Under DHA's dental laboratory standard, effective 7 June 2025, an in-clinic lab may serve only its own or its group's patients and needs at least two dental lab technicians (DHA). In Abu Dhabi, the DoH Jawda guidance requires every DoH-licensed facility with outpatient dental services to report seven quality indicators quarterly from Q1 2026, including complications within 14 days and implant mechanical failure at 3 to 18 months (DoH Abu Dhabi). Enforcement can reach a whole group: in February 2024 the DoH fined one centre AED 1m and banned it from offering dental services at all its branches over suspected fraud (Arabian Business citing DoH).
ONS reading The UAE dental market has not yet seen the scale of consolidation found in Saudi Arabia or the US. For investors, that means acquisition targets are mostly small groups of three to five clinics, and value depends on branch-level performance, clinician retention and regulatory record rather than brand scale. For clinic owners, the absence of dominant groups means competition is local: the relevant rivals are the clinics within a patient's travel distance and the ones that rank in the same map results, not a national chain.
Competition by emirate
The evidence supports only a broad comparison between emirates. The table combines directory listings, official supply data, published price signals and the presence of public providers.
| Emirate | Directory listings | Official supply indicator | Price and competition signals | Public provider presence | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dubai | 433 | 4,580 dentists (2024); 1,353 facilities offering dentistry (Jan 2026) | Discount-code implant offers from AED 3,699 with crown on one platform; most provider-published implant prices found are in Dubai | EHS at Al Kuwait Hospital | Zavis; Dubai Health Authority; Gulf News |
| Abu Dhabi emirate | 188 (140 Abu Dhabi, 48 Al Ain) | 1,920 dentists (2017) | Mediclinic self-pay offer; Olive Rock and Al Meswak acquisitions | SEHA; Thiqa 100% at SEHA | Zavis; DoH Abu Dhabi; Mediclinic |
| Sharjah | 145 | None found | Entry offers from AED 49 scaling and AED 299 veneer per tooth at one centre; Waffer member prices at another | University of Sharjah clinic | Zavis; Erum Saba Medical Center; Al Durar Dental Center |
| Ajman | 46 | None found | Dental hospital and hospital dental packages; bank member price list | Ajman Specialty Dental Center (EHS); Ajman University clinic | Zavis; Gulf News corporate news; Saudi German Hospital Ajman |
| Ras Al Khaimah | 44 | 15 private general dental clinics (2021) | Braces listed at AED 8,000 to 15,000 at one centre | Saqr Hospital (EHS) | Zavis; RAK Centre for Statistics and Studies; WhatClinic listing: Emirates Dental Center |
| Fujairah | 37 | None found | Few published prices | Dibba and Masafi hospitals (EHS) | Zavis; Emirates Health Services |
| Umm Al Quwain | 9 | None found | No clinic-published prices among 9 listed providers | Not named in notes | Zavis |
Within Dubai, competition also varies by district. Address-matched register data show 243 dentists at 52 facilities in Umm Suqeim and 122 dentists at 32 facilities in Business Bay (Zavis, 2026). Only 3,021 of 5,505 Dubai facilities have an address that names a mapped area, so these are partial counts (Zavis).
Where groups can differentiate
Three features of the evidence point to where competition is weakest. First, extended hours are rare: only 1.7% of dental clinics on one directory list 24/7 opening, while 88.3% are rated 4.5 or higher, so ratings separate clinics far less than availability does (Zavis, 2026). Second, specialist cover is unevenly spread. MOHAP's 2024 scope of practice bars general dentists from performing Invisalign or similar systems and requires referral to an orthodontist, and requires separate privileges for implants, lasers and nitrous oxide sedation; in Dubai, the 2021 orthodontic guideline placed orthodontic treatment under consultant or specialist orthodontists, and the current Dubai Dental Guidelines Version 2 (March 2026) include an orthodontics guideline. A group that can place the right specialist at each branch can offer services that a single general practice cannot. Third, public sector capacity sets the reference price for some patients, as the table above shows. Dubai Dental Week in January 2027 will put many participating clinics' offers side by side on one portal, which will make clear service descriptions and conditions more important, not less (Gulf News, Jan 2026).
For marketersIn Dubai, where supply is densest, differentiation through specialist services, named clinicians and branch-level content matters most. In the northern emirates, where public providers and low published entry prices set expectations, clear pricing and payment options carry more weight (Emirates Health Services; Erum Saba Medical Center, 2026).
Directories, aggregators and booking platforms
Directories and booking platforms shape what patients see when they compare clinics. Their counts differ widely because each has its own coverage, unit and search radius.
Dubai dental supply ranges from 110 to 1,353 depending on who counts and what

Payment platforms also act as discovery channels. Tabby has merchant pages for at least ten named dental clinics and Tamara names dental clinics and dental chains among its healthcare merchants, claiming over 10 million users in the region.
Google remains the dominant discovery layer, with a 93.47% share of UAE search (StatCounter Global Stats, 2026). Its Business Profile rules treat dentists as individual practitioners; a multi-practitioner clinic should have its own profile separate from its dentists', and a practitioner should not hold multiple profiles for different specialisations (Google, 2026). Publicly facing departments that operate as distinct entities, such as a hospital's dental department, should have their own page with a name that differs from the main business, and names must not include marketing taglines (Google, 2026). Google Maps bans incentivised reviews, including discounts or free services in exchange for a review, and selective solicitation of positive reviews.
ONS reading Directories and aggregators are both a channel and a competitor for a clinic's own website. Their listings and reviews influence patients, and several publish indicative prices that the clinic did not set. Groups should claim and correct their listings on the main platforms, keep one accurate Google Business Profile per branch (and per distinct hospital department), and measure which directories actually produce attended appointments before paying for premium placement. Under the ONS group-growth approach, expansion to more branches should follow evidence of incremental branch contribution and delivery capacity, with shared standards for content, consent and reporting across branches.
Gaps in the evidence
No public data. A current, verified count of branches for UAE dental groups (including Versailles Dental, Smile Design Dubai, Mediclinic, NMC and Burjeel dental services, and a current count for Drs. Nicolas & Asp); market shares of any dental group in any emirate; the number of UAE practices under a dental service organisation model; any UAE dental acquisition, private equity deal or valuation from 2024 to 2026; deal values for the 2022 and 2023 UAE transactions; dental booking volumes on Okadoc, Doctify, Practo or Zavis; Tabby and Tamara dental merchant counts; Invisalign, Straumann or Nobel Biocare provider counts for the UAE. A future edition should build a deduplicated register of dental facilities and branches by emirate from regulator registers and map listings, and track deal announcements through company filings.
