This chapter covers the emirate of Sharjah, including its east-coast towns of Khorfakkan, Kalba and Dibba Al Hisn. Sharjah's 2025 census counted 2,135,888 residents, 11% of them Emiratis, making it the third-largest resident market in this book (Sharjah Government Media Bureau via Sharjah24; Khaleej Times). Clinics need two advertising approvals, one from MOHAP and then a medical advertisement licence from the Sharjah Health Authority (SHA). Public price evidence is thin: clinic-published prices come mostly from facial, laser and toxin offers, while every surgical figure for Sharjah in this edition comes from an aggregator or marketplace (Samnan Medical Center, 2026; Orchid Medical Center).

In brief

Sharjah had 2,135,888 residents in the 2025 census, up 51% in ten years; 67% were men and 33% women (Sharjah Government Media Bureau via Sharjah24; Khaleej Times).

Emiratis numbered 234,431 (11%); the published Emirati sex figures show slightly more women (118,213) than men (116,128), unlike the 67% male total (Khaleej Times, 2025).

Sharjah city had 1,899,202 residents, Khorfakkan 61,936, Kalba 59,401 and Al Dhaid 39,295; the named towns do not reconcile exactly to the emirate total (Sharjah Government Media Bureau via Sharjah24, 2025; Khaleej Times, 2025).

No SHA or MOHAP count of cosmetic clinics, dermatologists or plastic surgeons in Sharjah was found; one directory reports 1,039+ Sharjah healthcare providers of all types (MediFinder).

SHA's medical advertisement licence requires prior MOHAP approval and takes 8 working days; MOHAP's social media advertising licence costs AED 100 to apply plus AED 1,000 a month or AED 3,000 a year.

Clinic-published Sharjah prices include a HydraFacial at AED 150 per session, named HydraFacial packages from AED 189, full-face toxin at AED 549 and AED 1,299, and a six-session full-body laser package at AED 1,200 (ESMC, 2026; Samnan Medical Center, 2026).

Several pages titled for Sharjah belong to Dubai clinics with Dubai addresses; this book counts their prices as Dubai prices.

No Sharjah-specific enforcement case against a cosmetic clinic or advertisement was found for 2023 to 2026 (MOHAP; Gulf News, 2018).

Healthcare searches naming Sharjah produced 34,733 impressions on one directory in four weeks of 2026, down 8.9% (Zavis).

Population and demographics

The Sharjah Census 2025, released on 24 June 2026, counted 2,135,888 residents (Sharjah Government Media Bureau via Sharjah24). The population grew 51% in ten years, and the Emirati population grew 33.6% between 2015 and 2025 (Khaleej Times). Men were 67% and women 33% of residents (Khaleej Times, 2025). Emiratis numbered 234,431, or 11%, of whom 118,213 were women and 116,128 men; those two figures sum to 234,341, 90 fewer than the published Emirati total, an inconsistency in the source article (Khaleej Times, 2025).

The Emirati figures matter for marketers because the Emirati population is close to evenly split by sex while the total is two-thirds male (Khaleej Times, 2025). Campaigns aimed at Sharjah women therefore reach a resident pool in which Emirati women are a larger share than Emiratis are of the population overall. This book does not compute that share, because the source's Emirati figures do not add up exactly.

Sharjah city had 1,899,202 residents (Sharjah Government Media Bureau via Sharjah24, 2025). The east coast towns of Khorfakkan (61,936), Kalba (59,401) and Dibba Al Hisn (16,116) sit on the Gulf of Oman side of the country, while Al Dhaid (39,295), Al Madam (21,230), Al Bataeh (9,077) and Mleiha (7,178) are inland, and Al Hamriyah (22,354) is on the west coast (Sharjah Government Media Bureau via Sharjah24, 2025; Khaleej Times, 2025). The nine named places sum to 2,135,789, 99 fewer than the emirate total (ONS calculation), so this book reports them as separate observations and does not compute shares (Sharjah Government Media Bureau via Sharjah24, 2025).

What it means for marketersSharjah is one large city and a set of small, distant towns. Khorfakkan and Kalba stay in Sharjah for reporting, but their residents' practical options may include Fujairah providers, and a Sharjah city clinic cannot assume east-coast patients will travel for repeat sessions.

No public data. No age structure, district-level population or sex split by town was found in the census reporting (Sharjah Government Media Bureau via Sharjah24, 2025; Khaleej Times, 2025). A future edition should request the full Sharjah Census 2025 tables from the Sharjah Department of Statistics and Community Development.

Healthcare facility and workforce supply

No Sharjah Health Authority or MOHAP publication found for this edition counts cosmetic, aesthetic or dermatology clinics in Sharjah, or the dermatologists and plastic surgeons licensed there. Federal open data on health facilities by emirate covers 2010 to 2021 only, and MOHAP's 2022 licensed facilities dataset did not render. The only current count is a directory's self-reported coverage of 1,039+ Sharjah providers across all healthcare (MediFinder).

Facility licensing is SHA's. Its permanent facility licence takes 8 working days to process, is valid for one year and renewable, and has a fee that depends on facility type (Sharjah Health Authority). Sharjah Healthcare City, a free zone, lists its own "License Application for Health Advertisement" service covering channels, websites, SMS and social media.

No public data. No count of Sharjah healthcare facilities or professionals of any type, and no SHA cosmetic or aesthetic clinic licensing standard, was found (Sharjah Health Authority; FCSC Open Data; MOHAP, 2021). A future edition should request SHA facility and professional counts by licence category.

Cosmetic clinic supply and provider groups

Provider presence in Sharjah is documented by clinic pages, booking platforms and directory listings. CosmeSurge lists branches at NMC Royal Hospital and on Corniche Road. Samnan Medical Center in Samnan and Halwan, ESMC and Dr Sunny Medical Centre in Samnan publish skin, laser or dermatology services. Orchid Medical Center on Corniche Al Khan lists diode laser hair removal, carbon laser peel, beard shaping and Q-switch tattoo removal. Directory listings show toxin prices from CosmoLaser Medical Center in Samnan, The Garden Medical Center in Al Jazzat and BellaPhi in Muweilah Commercial (MediFinder, 2026). Emirates International Medical Center in Al Rifaah publishes a laser hair removal guide (EIMC). VLCC lists a Sharjah branch at Buhaira Corniche, and Medcare serves Dubai and Sharjah without naming the branch on its aesthetic package page.

Hospital groups appear mostly through medical tourism marketplaces: Zulekha Hospital Sharjah, Burjeel Specialty Hospital Sharjah and NMC Royal Hospital Sharjah are listed with USD starting prices for cosmetic procedures (MediGence, 2026; Medigence).

ONS reading The visible Sharjah supply is a mix of medical centres with strong offer pricing for skin and laser services and hospital groups that price surgery only through marketplaces. Do not read the sample as a low-price market. It shows a preference for package and promotional pricing on low-ticket services, and a near absence of published surgical prices, which leaves room for a clinic that explains its surgical pathway and inclusions clearly.

Medical tourism

No official health tourism series exists for Sharjah. The only cosmetic figures that mention Sharjah hospitals and international patients come from marketplaces: MediGence lists hair transplant at Zulekha Hospital Sharjah "from USD 4750" and an abdominoplasty package at NMC Royal Hospital Sharjah at USD 7,897, including one to two hospital nights, marked sold out. These are marketplace listings priced for international buyers, not resident prices.

No public data. No Sharjah health tourist count, spend or speciality mix was found (MediGence, 2026). A future edition should ask SHA and Sharjah's tourism authority whether they collect health tourism data.

Regulator and advertising approval route

Sharjah sits between two regulators. SHA licenses facilities and professionals in the emirate, while advertising needs MOHAP approval before SHA will issue its own medical advertisement licence (Sharjah Health Authority). The steps and published fees are set out below.

Step or ruleAuthorityPublished termsSource

Monitoring processMOHAPWarning email with up to 3 working days to license or remove; fine doubles if removal takes more than 5 working daysMOHAP [Official]

MOHAP's monitoring page, accessed in October 2026, still lists the older schedule under Cabinet Resolution 7 of 2007: AED 4,000 per language and product for an unlicensed health ad, AED 8,000 for an ad breaching the 2007 resolution, and AED 2,000 for altering a licensed ad. Cabinet Resolution 82 of 2025 sets the newer graded schedule shown in the table. It was published in Official Gazette No. 802 on 26 June 2025 and took effect on 22 December 2025; the UAE legislation portal lists it as active. MOHAP's general advertisement licence carries an AED 100 application fee plus a fee by facility category and ad type.

Federal rules apply on top. Under the Federal Media Law, fines reach AED 1,000,000 for serious breaches, with AED 5,000 for a first case of disseminating false information, and health advertisements are named as regulated content (Gulf News; Khaleej Times). Influencers need a UAE Media Council Advertiser Permit from 1 February 2026; press reports differ on whether its validity is one year renewable or three years (Gulf News). Patient data falls under Federal Law No. 2 of 2019, which requires 25-year retention and written consent for non-health uses such as marketing, with fines of AED 500,000 to 700,000 for breaching data localisation (Latham & Watkins).

No public data. No SHA or MOHAP standard for non-surgical cosmetic procedures, injector scope or before-and-after advertising content was found, so this book cannot say who may inject toxin or filler in Sharjah in the way it can for Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The SHA advertisement fee amount is also unpublished (Sharjah Health Authority). A future edition should request SHA's cosmetic practice rules and fee schedule.

ONS reading Two approvals mean two lead times. A Sharjah clinic should allow MOHAP's 1 to 3 working days and then SHA's 8 working days before a new advertisement can run, and should treat any edit as a new application. Seasonal offers therefore need to be approved weeks ahead, and campaigns should be built from approved creative variants rather than improvised posts. Until SHA publishes content rules, applying the DHA social media standard is a sensible conservative baseline.

Enforcement cases in Sharjah

No Sharjah-specific enforcement action against a cosmetic clinic, practitioner or advertisement was found for 2023 to 2026. The federal record applies: MOHAP warned in 2018 that unlicensed centres using visiting doctors or cosmeticians were committing a criminal offence, highlighting toxin, fillers and unmonitored laser including home services, and in January 2021 MOHAP temporarily halted cosmetic services nationwide during COVID-19 (Gulf News; Gulf News, Jan 2021). MOHAP's monitoring process sends a warning and then a violation notice for unlicensed ads. Counterfeit Botox alerts issued by the Emirates Drug Establishment in 2026 were federal (Khaleej Times). In 2023, Mounjaro and Ozempic shortages were reported in Dubai and Sharjah pharmacies, driven by weight-loss demand (Burjeel).

No public data. No SHA inspection, fine or closure data for cosmetic facilities was found, and no Sharjah cosmetic clinic enforcement case for 2023 to 2026 (Gulf News, 2018; MOHAP). A future edition should request SHA enforcement statistics.

Published prices in Sharjah

The table below lists prices that clinics with a Sharjah address publish for their own services, on their own pages or on directories and booking platforms that name the clinic. Each is a single-provider observation; VAT, validity and inclusions are as published, and no Sharjah page in the sample states its VAT treatment.

Three features of Sharjah price pages stand out. First, the Samnan page shows a general "from AED149" claim alongside a named Classic package at AED 189. That mismatch shows why prices in ads, landing pages and booking scripts need to agree before paid campaigns begin. Second, laser hair removal is sold mainly as six-session packages, not single sessions (Orchid Medical Center). Third, the two clinic-published full-face toxin prices differ by a factor of more than two, AED 549 and AED 1,299, on the same stated basis, and the directory does not record the product, units or consultation terms behind either (MediFinder, 2026). A low advertised price for a device-based body treatment, such as AED 200 for a fat freezing session, does not establish what a complete treatment plan costs, because the treated area is not stated (ESMC, 2026).

Pages titled for Sharjah that are Dubai clinics. Dynamic Life Clinics' "Hair Transplant Sharjah" page lists addresses in Al Barsha and Dubai Silicon Oasis; Tajmeels' "Hair Transplant in Sharjah" page gives an Al Wasl Road, Dubai address; Royal Clinic and Estheticare headline prices for "Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah" without a Sharjah address. These pages rank for Sharjah searches but their prices are counted in chapter 04 as Dubai prices. If a Tajmeels branch in Sharjah is later verified, its prices would move to this chapter.

No public data. This edition found no own-website price from a verified Sharjah branch for surgery, filler per ml, toxin per unit, CO2 laser or a GLP-1 programme, and the Sharjah target of 30 clinic-published prices was not met (Medigence; Zavis, 2026). A future edition should mystery-shop Sharjah providers by WhatsApp and record quoted prices with basis and inclusions.

Digital audience notes for Sharjah

No platform publishes Sharjah-only reach or keyword data. One healthcare directory's Search Console data recorded 34,733 impressions for healthcare searches naming Sharjah between 19 September and 16 October 2026, down 8.9% on the prior period, third behind Dubai and Abu Dhabi (Zavis). A University of Sharjah-led survey of 403 men in the UAE found 13.2% met a body dysmorphic disorder questionnaire cutoff and that men screening positive had higher odds of considering cosmetic surgery; the sample's emirate is not named (Haj Hussain et al., Frontiers in Psychiatry 16, 2025). That finding is a reason for care in men's aesthetic advertising, not a targeting signal.

Dubai providers also compete for Sharjah searches. A Doctify search for face-lift specialists in Al Nahda, Sharjah returns a mix of Sharjah and Dubai practitioners, and Dubai clinics publish Sharjah-titled pages. A Sharjah clinic is competing for its own city's searches against Dubai providers.

No public data. No Sharjah-specific platform reach, keyword volume, CPC or review distribution was found (Zavis, 2026). A future edition should use Google Ads Keyword Planner and Search Console data from Sharjah clinics.

ONS reading Combine clear pricing, visibility in local search and better enquiry handling. Measure how often a lead becomes an attended consultation, and separate price-only enquiries from genuine local appointment demand; transparent inclusions may improve qualification even if raw enquiries fall. Create plain-language answers to the questions reception hears repeatedly: what the listed price covers, who assesses the patient, how to find the branch, whether consultation is separate and how to reschedule. Keep residence and treatment location as separate CRM fields so that an Ajman resident treated in Sharjah counts as a Sharjah acquisition but an Ajman resident in audience analysis. If the clinic can handle both, test one clearly defined booking process for skin or laser care and one consultation-led process for specialist care. Compare attendance and contribution rather than choosing the source with the cheapest leads.

Gaps in the evidence

No public data. This chapter could not find: a count of cosmetic clinics, dermatologists or plastic surgeons in Sharjah; any SHA cosmetic practice standard; the SHA advertisement fee; Sharjah health tourism figures; any Sharjah cosmetic enforcement case; clinic-published surgical prices; the census age structure and district populations; and Sharjah-level digital audience data. A future edition should fetch SHA licensing and enforcement data, the full census tables and a structured mystery-shop of Sharjah clinics.
